Brace Yourself for Invisalign®

Woman inserting invisible bracesBraces are only for older children and young adults. True or false?

While their original design may have been geared towards younger populations, braces are back, better than ever, and a real option for people of all ages. Here at Mermaid Smiles, we offer Invisalign®. The perfect solution to straightening crooked teeth without the hassle of metal brackets – Invisalign® might be what you need to create a happier, more confident smile!

How Often Do I Need to Wear Them?

Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® guides your teeth to proper alignment with custom, removable aligners. This means that you are able to remove them for meals and daily dental care. For ideal results, however, we do recommend that patients wear their aligners for at least 22 hours each day.

Are They Really Invisible?

Invisalign® trays are made of translucent, BPA-free plastic. To the people around you, they are barely noticeable, if at all. To ensure the effect of natural teeth, be sure to continue regular brushing and flossing as well as routine aligner cleanings. If you are not careful, your trays can become discoloured.

Rest assured, as long as you work to keep the stains away – your aligners will give you the natural-looking smile you deserve while simultaneously straightening your teeth.

How Long Does It Take?

Mermaid Smiles is here to help patients throughout their Invisalign® journeys. As your teeth will shift closer to your end goal every two weeks, you can expect new trays on a fairly consistent basis. The conventional Invisalign® process typically takes up to 12 months to complete.
